Movie Room Reviews, a leading movie reviews site, is excited to announce another great giveaway for an August 26th DVD release, Pope Dreams.  This is a story about a young drifter with lofty goals, from PorchLight Home Entertainment.  A directionless 19-year old dreamer, Andy Venable (Phillip Vaden, debut) spends his days working for his hard-case dad (Stephen Tobolowsky, Groundhog Day and Heroes) and his nights playing drums in a loud, heavy-metal band.  His only clear goal at the moment is to get his ailing mother (Julie Hagerty, Airplane! and Lost in America), a devout Catholic to meet the Pope before she dies.

While dealing with it all, he falls for Brady (Marnette Patterson, Nip/Tuck, Starship Troopers 3), a girl totally out of his league, and gets discovered by two Broadway producers for a musical talent that might be his true calling.  But dreaming is easy.  Reality is hard. Pope Dreams co-stars Noel Fisher (The Riches, Final Destination 2) and earned 11 festival awards.

The movie is set to release on August 26th on DVD.  We will draw on August 23rd, so we can get you the movie on or about the release date.  We have 3 DVD copies to giveaway to winners who will be drawn on August 23rd using Random.org.   Entry and shipping are FREE for US and CANADA WINNERS only please on this giveaway!

From Director Noam Murro, Smart People is a clever romantic comedy from Miramax Productions and the producing team that brought us Sideways.  The story highlights the intricacies of a mixed up family led by pretentious and arrogant college English professor Lawrence Wetherhold (Dennis Quaid).  With his wife dead, Lawrence relies on his daughter Vanessa (Ellen Page) to take care of the house and provide the meals.  She is an intelligent young republican who has had to grow up to quickly for her own good.  Fortunately, she has her less intelligent and free-spirited uncle, Chuck (Thomas Haden Church), to help loosen her up a bit.

As Lawrence reaches the heights of his arrogance and develops self-delusional ambitions of writing a book and living in peace, he runs across a former student, Dr. Janet Hartigan (Sarah Jessica Parker), after falling and ending up in the hospital.  Despite not recognizing Janet initially, Lawrence decides to ask her out on a date.  They begin to build an awkward relationship that ultimately leads to a scared and pregnant Janet.
