2 Horror-Thriller Movie Reviews: Shutter and The Ruins

Movie Room Reviews, a leading provider of movie reviews, has recently reviewed a couple solid DVD movie releases in the horror-thriller genre.  Shutter and The Ruins highlighted a good recent running of movies that fit into this sometimes under served popular movie genre.

Shutter is a supernatural thriller that stars Joshua Jackson and Rachael Taylor as a new married couple that moves to Tokyo.  Shortly after their move, they both become haunted by visions of a woman who they thought they had run into with their car on their honeymoon, although a body was never found.  This clever story takes a unique direction and offers numerous jump scenes to satisfy thriller buffs.

The Ruins was a much anticipated DVD movie release that was adapted from the popular book, The Ruins, by Scott B. Smith.  The movie, while simple in plot, offers a great cast, including Jena Malone and Jonathan Tucker, and a very original storyline for a horror-thriller movie.  The movie tells the story of a group of 4 Americans on vacation in Cancun who get more thrills than they bargained for when they go sight seeing to a little known ancient pyramid.
